I've got two new reviews from the New York Film Festival up at The Film Experience this afternoon, crammed side by side because of their similarities --click here to read my thoughtson Aaron Brookner's full-length documentary Uncle Howard and Lisanne Skylar's short doc Brillo Box (3 ¢ Off). Both films speak to the legacy of art passed down to a younger generation - in fact both speak of the New York City art scene in the 70s and 80s. So they were of great interest to me! Below is the trailer for Uncle Howard; Brillo Box doesn't have one yet but here's it's Facebook page - it is set to air on HBO sometime next year.
